Frank Cohen
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2009
Currently: Harvard undergraduate, Class of 2010
As part of the 2009 AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class, Frank served at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, where he worked to improve their volunteer management program. He is currently a senior at Harvard University majoring in social studies and also leads the Men's Varsity Squash Team as a co-captain. Frank feels the Alumni Board is an ideal way for him to remain connected to New Sector and to help alumni harness their collective experiences so that they can connect with one another, create new career opportunities, and share innovative ways to give back to their communities.
Moira Finicane
AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise, 2008-09
Currently: Strategic Partnerships and Recruitment Coordinator at Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship
After graduating from Harvard University in 2006 and working at a travel company and in real estate, Moira spent her AmeriCorps Residency year serving at MIT’s Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship, where she was responsible for managing communications, developing strategic partnerships, and exploring new avenues for fundraising. Moira joined Legatum in a permanent position after her Residency year to lead their strategic partnership and recruitment efforts. Moira joined New Sector's Alumni Board to help foster the same types of incredible learning experiences for other participants that she enjoyed as an AmeriCorps Resident.
Caitlin Gillooly
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2006
Currently: Associate Consultant at Alliance Consulting
Caitlin joined the inaugural AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class in 2006. As a Summer Fellow, she served at Year Up, where she identified, distilled, and documented key internal beliefs and practices for employee training in anticipation of the program’s expansion from three regional locations to several major U.S. cities. Caitlin graduated from Harvard University in 2007 with a degree in Psychology. She is currently an associate at Alliance Consulting Group, a boutique strategy consulting firm based in Boston. She joined the Alumni Board to help build New Sector's network of social change leaders.
Ryan Guest
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2009
Currently: Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Class of 2010
Ryan served as a 2009 New Sector AmeriCorps Summer Fellow at the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, where he conducted the foundational research for a presentation later given by CEO and Founder Michael Porter on revenue growth opportunities and key constraints for business growth in inner cities. Ryan is currently attending the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and hopes to contribute his private sector experience to building the Alumni Board. He also wants to give back to the Summer Fellows program which gave him "the best summer experience of any of his Tuck classmates."
Vinay Kampalath
AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise, 2008-09
Currently: Brown School of Medicine, Class of 2012
Vinay was a member of the inaugural 2007-08 AmeriCorps Residency class and served at The Medical Foundation, where he worked on a growth and scaling strategy for the Massachusetts Asthma Advocacy Partnership. Vinay graduated from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2007 with a double concentration in Chemistry and African American Studies. He is currently a student in the Brown Medical School Class of 2012 pursuing studies in international health delivery. Vinay is thrilled to remain involved with New Sector, which gave him his first exposure to social enterprise; he hopes the Alumni Board can unify the alumni as they proceed towards work, school, or their own entrepreneurial activities.
David Kim
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2006
Currently: Consultant at Opera Solutions
David Kim was a member of the inaugural 2006 AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class where he served at Jumpstart for Young Children. While at Jumpstart, he created a measurement system to gauge the success of their summer program, designed a knowledge-sharing system, and helped move the organization to their new home in the Boston Children's Museum. After his Summer Fellows experience, David entered New Sector in JP Morgan's Good Venture Competition, beating over 80 teams to become one of the finalists. David has also served as a mentor to the Summer Fellows for the last two summers. He is currently a consultant at Opera Solutions, a boutique management and strategy consulting firm based in New York. He is excited to help advance New Sector's mission of accelerating social change through the work of the Alumni Board.
Paul Kim
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2009
Currently: MS/MBA Boston University, Class of 2011
Paul participated in the 2009 AmeriCorps Summer Fellows program, where he wrote a case study for Victory Programs Inc. on its history of strategic alliances. He is originally from California and studied Political Economy as an undergraduate at the University of California, Berkeley, after which he worked in Russia through the Peace Corps. He has spent time as a high school educator, and is planning to combine his business and education interests in a future endeavor. As part of the Alumni Board, Paul hopes to increase the connections among New Sector alumni and raise awareness about the contribution they can make as a unified group.
Katie Koopman

Currently: Government Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton
Katie Koopman joined the 2008-2009 AmeriCorps Residency Class after graduating from Harvard University. She first served with Youth Employment Systems on their communications strategy, and later implemented a constituent database and overhauled the website for Somerville Community Corporation. Katie decided to get involved with the Alumni Board because of New Sector's incredible potential for impact and growth and sees the Alumni Board as an opportunity to further that impact and promote a sense of community among alumni.
Tracy Lam-Hine
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2009
Currently: University of California, Berkeley undergraduate, Class of 2010
Tracy is a dual B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Environmental Science candidate at the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the 2009 AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class in Boston and spent the summer developing a start up plan for a youth entrepreneurship organization serving at-risk teens in low-income Boston area communities. Tracy feels strongly about sharing the positive experience he had with the Summer Fellows program and hopes to serve as a resource for New Sector Alliance's expansion to his hometown of San Francisco.
James Liu

Currently: University of Pennsylvania undergraduate, Class of 2010
James was member of the 2008 AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class and served with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City on a project to capture employment trends in inner city areas. James is involved in social-impact activities at Penn where he hopes to promote both awareness and excitement for the social sector. James strongly believes in New Sector's mission and the opportunities it provides for participants to understand how business skills can be used to promote social good. He hopes the Alumni Board will help New Sector develop its current programs as well as help the organization expand its service offerings.
Zahra Majeed
AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise, 2007-08
Currently: Program Manager in Human Capital at The New Teacher Project
Zahra joined New Sector as a member of its first AmeriCorps Residency class in 2007-08. She served at Year Up, a national workforce develop program for young, urban talent, where she completed a variety of human resource projects. Zahra's time with Year Up motivated her current work as a member of The New Teacher Project's Human Capital team, where she currently works in Sacramento, CA, managing professional development programs for the education organization's 200+ staff. Zahra has also served as a member of Teach for America's Corps. She looks forward to participating on the Alumni Board to support New Sector's alumni impact and growth.
Grace Moore
AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise, 2008-09
Currently: Community Worker at Codman Square Health Center
Grace was a member of the 2008-09 AmeriCorps Residency program and served at the Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester. While there, she completed several projects in human resources, including the implementation of a formal volunteer program in conjunction with Codman's partner organization, Dotwell. Grace graduated from Bowdoin College in 2008 where she studied Sociology, Environmental Studies, and Spanish. As part of the Alumni Board, she hopes to help contribute to New Sector's vision and enhance New Sector's network of motivated advocates.
Matt Taylor
AmeriCorps Resident in Social Enterprise, 2008-09
Currently: Portfolio Analyst at New Profit Inc.
Matt was a 2008-09 AmeriCorps Resident at MY TURN, Inc., a dropout prevention and out-of-school youth intervention organization based in Brockton, MA. Matt helped refine MY TURN's individual giving strategy and launch a new constituent relationship management database system. Matt is involved on the Alumni Board because he believes in New Sector's potential for being a revolutionary force for talent in the social sector. He hopes the Alumni Board can drive resources -- most notably human and financial -- from within and outside of the New Sector network to play a meaningful role in shaping New Sector's short- and long-term development and social impact.
Hari Won
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2009
Currently: Special Projects Fellow at New Sector Alliance and Associate Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting
Hari joined the inaugural San Francisco Summer Fellows class in 2009 after receiving her B.S. in Mathematics/Economics from UCLA. She spent her summer at Nonprofit Finance Fund Capital Partners, where she worked on developing a sustainable client selection process and a set of prospective clients for their Sustainable Enhancement Grant (SEGUE) product. Having participated in the inaugural class in the West Coast, she hopes to bring regional diversity to the Alumni Board and wants to see New Sector's programs continue to grow.
Jenn Yoo
AmeriCorps Summer Fellow, 2006
Currently: Communications Associate at Trickle Up
Jenn Yoo was part of New Sector's inaugural AmeriCorps Summer Fellows class of 2006 after graduating from Yale University with a B.A. in English. As a Summer Fellow, she worked with Boston Partners in Education, where she assessed the capacity of the organization to expand into new program areas and provided recommendations on program metrics. In joining the Alumni Board, she hopes to contribute to New Sector by serving as a resource to its staff, Fellows, applicants, and supporters. She is excited about the ideas and energy that a committed group of alumni can contribute to the organization's growth and reach in helping young professionals create social change.
