If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?
I would love to have dinner with Alexander Hamilton. As a huge fan of his life story (and the musical), I would love to get a chance to speak with him about his legacy and how he envisioned it when he was alive vs. now.
What motivates you to create social impact?
I am motivated by education inequity and the need for strong leadership and community involvement in order to give children access to a just and fair education.

Host Site Project
At Main Street Launch (formerly OBDC Small Business Finance), our mission is to create economic opportunity by empowering entrepreneurs. Through innovative partnerships, we provide business owners with the capital, education, and relationships that allow them to flourish. Our collaborative approach helps our borrowers create jobs and stimulates economic development in low-to-moderate communities. To ensure our work is achieving our mission and that our resources are allocated to the programs delivering the highest impact, Main Street Launch is committed to an annual impact assessment process. Our impact evaluation process was launched in 2013, and leveraged the expertise of our staff, a New Sector Summer Fellow, and subsequent interns. Our Summer Fellow will work on our database development and analysis phase of this process, helping us build a manual dataset while our database is in development, documenting the process and strategy, and beginning to evaluate the data we?ve collected. To better understand the process and data collection, our Summer Fellow will also support the data collection process, offering recommendations for process improvement and long-term strategy. The findings we derive from this data collection and data set will be used to report back to our staff and more broadly in reports to our stakeholders, as well as the general public, to share the story of our work and the impact of entrepreneurs and small businesses in our communities. By supporting and expanding Main Street’s impact evaluation, the fellow will increase our capacity to create effective new programs to reach our target market, to evaluate the impact of our work with the populations we intend to serve, and to target our services more effectively in Oakland, San Francisco, and with United States Veterans.
