If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?

I would love to eat a dinner of space goop with Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield. He has reinvigorated our interest in space and captured the imagination of anyone looking to push frontiers.

What motivates you to create social impact?

I am motivated by a genuine interest & love of other humans and a desire to see all lives grow and flourish.

Host Site Project

UCAN’s vision is that youth who have suffered trauma can become our future leaders. Our mission is to strive to build strong youth and families through compassionate healing, education and empowerment. UCAN’s Quality Improvement Department supports over ten client programs, serving over 10,000 youth and families a year. Programs include, but are not limited to, out-patient clinical services, youth development, violence prevention and foster care. UCAN has long been an industry leader in the data tracking and reporting of client services and outcomes, which has become increasingly critical to providing quality services and programming. Most recently, UCAN has purchased a new case management software system aimed at improving our case monitoring and service responsiveness, as well as our reporting and data analysis of program outcomes. The Quality Improvement Department, in collaboration with IT and other programs, is in the process of implementing this new system across the agency, with the goal of rolling it out to all programs in FY16. In collaboration with the Sr Business and Systems Analyst, the New Sector Fellow will focus on the project management of a team of quality improvement specialists, IT personnel and program personnel in effort to complete the roll-out of this new system to all UCAN programs.
