If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?

I would have loved to have dinner with G.A. Cohen – His passion and persistence for the social good was unparalleled by his peers.

What motivates you to create social impact?

The desire to be a responsible and just citizen.

Host Site Overview

We are driven by our mission that all Hiawatha Academies scholars will be empowered with the knowledge, character, and leadership skills to graduate from college and serve the common good.

Host Site Project

Hiawatha Academies is a results-oriented, data-driven organization that seeks to use evidence to drive improvement as we grow. The Data Coordinator (DC) will build capacity by improving and expanding our growing information management needs, maintaining the data systems and processes that currently support learning across our network, and helping to refine them. The Data Coordination Fellow will be an active member of the Network Support Team and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics. The fellow will manage Hiawatha’s central metrics database, including increasing capacity through building cloud based tools to securely and efficiently deposit information into our central metric database, as well as developing training materials for staff using the database. The fellow will also support processes to improve the cleanliness of our data, including developing data management best practices for our campuses and staff to ensure uniform, reliable collection of student information across our sites. Finally, our fellow will collaborate with the Network Assessment Coordinator to ensure smooth administration of network-wide assessments, including coordinating the setup of network wide information systems in preparation for assessment windows. All of these focuses will help expand the capacity of our internal data use.
