If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with Julian Castro the 16th, United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. His insight into what it means to not only be a leader and be someone that looks like me is inspirational.

What motivates you to create social impact?

The thought of knowing that I have power over my life, grants me the confidence, foresight, and motivation to help others see themselves as leaders and grow.

Host Site Project

The Massachusetts Children’s Alliance (MACA) is an accredited state chapter of the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) and the membership organization of the state’s 11 Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs). MACA promotes an integrated, multidisciplinary team response to child abuse. We are committed to strengthening collaboration and fostering systemic and societal change to protect children. MACA works to ensure that children and families have access to high quality, comprehensive, specialized and culturally competent services of a Children’s Advocacy Center.

The Alliance is at an important moment for growth, having successfully implemented its last 3 strategic plans, the organization is beginning the planning process for its next plan. To continue it’s growth, the Alliance knows it needs to improve community awareness and engagement. Therefore, the Alliance seeks a New Sector RISE Fellow to enable the organization to grow through 3 specific community awareness and engagement areas: the Access to Mental Health initiative, training and education, and a developed communications strategy.
