If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?

Friday Khalo is one of favorite leaders for one reason- she was an extraordinary woman in rebellion during a time in Latin America where women weren’t politically or socially empowered to be revolutionists.

What motivates you to create social impact?

As a daughter of immigrants, I have seen my parents struggle though making a fair living wage and experience their struggles, I want to create equal economic opportunities for everyone through the social sector.

Host Site Overview

The mission of Strong Women, Strong Girls is to utilize the lessons learned from strong women throughout history to encourage girls and young women to become strong women themselves. By building communities of women committed to supporting positive social change, Strong Women, Strong Girls works to create cycles of mutual empowerment for women and girls.

Host Site Project

Strong Women, Strong Girls has grown successfully over the last 11 years and is now assessing its programs and preparing for growth. The organization is currently engaged in strategic planning to explore opportunities for expansion and improvements in our programming. The Boston team is currently in need of a Fellow to support several pilot programs to build capacity for growth and refinement of our work in the coming years. The New Sector RISE Fellow will support SWSG in designing, delivering and assessing some key programs that are focused on building capacity and improvements for the future. This project is a fantastic opportunity for the Fellow to work closely with an experienced program team and an entrepreneurial Executive Director. The Fellow will be in communication with the Boston Board and Advisory Council and will have the opportunity to influence long-term strategy.
