If you could have dinner with 1 person who you regard as a leader, who would it be and why?
I would have dinner with Cheryl Strayed because we have so much in common and her writing has inspired me in my personal values and my life generally.
What motivates you to create social impact?
I want to address social injustice and create meaningful change in people’s lives.
Host Site Overview
To eliminate gender barriers, whether linked to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We pursue our mission through three integrated program areas: impact litigation, policy advocacy, and education. We are rooted in our community and value “bottom-up” advocacy.
Host Site Project
The New Sector Fellow will focus on the community education component of our work. The goal is to increase awareness of gender inequality issues through telling the stories of Gender Justice’s clients and our successes and challenges. Gender Justice is a young organization that has had exceptional successes both locally and nationally, but we have lacked the capacity to effectively tell those stories. We hope to deepen the engagement of our current constituents, broaden our constituency, and develop stronger relationships within our communities. The Fellow will focus on improving our story-telling ability through various channels, including our website, email, social media, and mass media. The Fellow will then train and support staff members to effectively communicate our work.
