Jan Cohen brings over 19 years of experience in consulting and training nonprofit organizations as well as groups of organizations of all sizes and missions, especially focused on successful earned income or social enterprise endeavors, and marketing planning. For over 14 years, Jan served in Executive Director, Interim Executive, and Director of New Business Ventures roles across a range of nonprofits. She serves as a Board Member at TransAccess and Social Enterprise Alliance (SF Bay Area Chapter), and is an active volunteer for a range of nonprofit organizations including New Sector where she facilitates training workshops for our Fellows.
Jan has degrees in Special Education and Speech Pathology from University of Virginia and University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a Master’s in Speech Pathology from University of Maryland, College Park, and a Certificate in Marketing from University of California, Santa Cruz.

New Sector offers a true “win-win situation” where the interns get wonderful experience and the host nonprofits obtain wonderful, competent, eager professionals to help out with key important projects.
