Professional Background

Tenzin Kunsal is an alumna of the New Sector’s Twin Cities RISE Program, during which she served at a startup nonprofit called Pollen. After her fellowship, Tenzin worked as the Program and Outreach Strategist at Pollen where she was involved in the organization’s communication projects, story production, community outreach, events, administrative operations, client projects, and the hiring and supervision of interns. In addition to sitting on several nonprofit boards and committees, Tenzin also has direct service experience in organizations like College Possible and has been immersed in public policy and advocacy work through various local and international nonprofits, such as the League of Women Voters Minnesota and International Campaign for Tibet.

Tenzin values cross-­cultural and cross­-sector collaborations, loves to learn about the intersectionalities of the world, and is committed to alleviating socio­economic inequalities through the social sector.

What inspires me about New Sector is the curation of a unique space where fellows, partner organizations, mentors, trainers, alumni, and community members can interact and work together.
