The Nature Conservancy

Marie (she/her) has worked in higher education and nonprofit organizations,, often stepping into newly designed roles that focus on ensuring organizations can live into their mission and center equity. She is currently the Director of DEI for the Nature Conservancy in Washington, also a new role for the organization. Marie is a trained facilitator in the Art of Hosting methodology, a Qualified Administrator in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and engages deeply in generative somatics work. These tools and practices support her work as a passionate coach and facilitator in the DEI space. She holds a BA in English and Philosophy from Scripps College and a master’s degree in Higher Education with a concentration in Student Access and Success from the University of Michigan. Between her bachelor's and master’s degrees, Marie served with AmeriCorps in the Bay Area. She is a board member for Summer Search Seattle, an organization that empowers young people to discover their purpose through mentorship, leadership experiences, post-secondary advising, and career support. She joined the board because the program helped shape her passion and values when she was a participant in high school and believes in the impact Summer Search continues to have on youth and their families.
