Privacy Policy
This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) outlines what information New Sector Alliance ("NSA", "we", or "us") collects from users on its website www.newsector.org (the “Site”), any of its subdomains, or any related sites, applications, widgets, or online services offered by NSA (each a “Service” and collectively, the “Services”), how we protect, use, and disclose that information, and what choices you have about how that information is used and disclosed.
Use of the Services is subject to this Privacy Policy. Because our Services interact with third-party services, it is your responsibility to review and accept the terms of use and privacy policies of those third-party services before interacting with them.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using the Services. If you do not accept this Privacy Policy, do not use the Services. When you use the Services, you understand that NSA may collect, use, and disclose technical data and related information about you in various ways, as outlined in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at info@newsector.org.
We reserve the right to modify or replace this Privacy Policy at any time in accordance with Section 10 (Changes to This Privacy Policy). If you have any questions, please contact us at the information listed in Section 12.
1. Eligibility Requirements
NSA does not knowingly collect or solicit Personally Identifiable Information (as defined in Section 2) from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such individuals to make donations. If we learn that we have collected Personally Identifiable Information from anyone under the age of 13, we will delete that information.
2. Information We Collect
We gather two types of information about users: non-personal information and Personally Identifiable Information. These are detailed below.
2.1 Personally Identifiable Information
When you use the Services, we collect Personally Identifiable Information that you provide when you join our mailing list, request newsletters, inquire about employment, apply for programs, inquire about partnerships, sign up for events, complete surveys, or donate to NSA. “Personally Identifiable Information” includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, and other information that can identify you. We may also collect and track usage data, which is automatically generated as you navigate through the Services.
Uses of Personally Identifiable Information include sending information about programs, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and sharing information with external audiences such as donors. You can opt out of receiving email updates at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any newsletter.
2.2 Cookies
We use “cookies” to store and sometimes track user information, such as IP addresses and viewed pages. Cookies help us recognize repeat users and track web usage behavior. You can control cookie preferences through your browser, but disabling cookies may limit certain features of the Services. We also use web beacons to access our cookies and to count users who have visited specific pages. Third-party cookies and analytics services like Google Analytics may also collect information.
3. How We Use and Share Your Information
3.1 Non-Personal Information
We use non-personal information to improve our Services and engagement with users.
3.2 Personally Identifiable Information
We use Personally Identifiable Information to provide and enhance our Services, evaluate eligibility for programs, and communicate with you. By providing Personally Identifiable Information, you consent to its transfer and storage on NSA's systems.
We may use Personally Identifiable Information for newsletters, surveys, responding to inquiries, evaluating applications, and processing donations. NSA uses third-party service providers for donation processing, and no payment information is stored on NSA's servers.
4. Other Disclosure of Your Information
4.1 Aggregated Data
NSA may share aggregated usage data with third parties for analysis, but it will not include Personally Identifiable Information.
4.2 Third-Party Service Providers
We may share your Personally Identifiable Information with third-party service providers to assist in providing the Services. These providers have limited access to your information and are only permitted to use it for specific tasks. NSA does not control third-party services like social media, so review their privacy policies before interacting with them.
4.3 Law Enforcement
NSA may disclose information to government or law enforcement officials to comply with legal obligations or protect NSA's rights and property.
4.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a business transfer, your Personally Identifiable Information may be transferred to the new entity. We will notify you in the event of any such transfer.
5. Updating Your Personally Identifiable Information
You may correct, delete, or update your Personally Identifiable Information by contacting info@newsector.org.
6. Retention of Personally Identifiable Information
We retain your Personally Identifiable Information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy or as required by law.
7. Security
NSA uses commercially reasonable measures to protect Personally Identifiable Information, but we cannot guarantee complete security. Information transmitted to NSA is done at your own risk.
8. Individual California Residents
California residents may request details regarding NSA's disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information for marketing purposes or opt out of such disclosures by contacting info@newsector.org.
